It will go into the statistics of ASD and LGBTQ+ identities, discuss access to healthcare for ASD and LGBTQ+ people, and how to make changes in educators’ daily lives to make their information more accessible for these identities. Additionally, there will be a variety of anecdotes from fellow local educators that have these identities for a closer connection to our service here in Oklahoma.\nKey Topics:\nUnderstand the intersectionality between ASD and LGBTQ+ identities, specifically within the AFAB community.\nView and acknowledge the disparities within these communities and discover reliable, accessible resources to assist.\nGain a deeper understanding of the experiences of queer folks that are on the spectrum, thus aiding the communities within their profession and who we serve.\nSpecific Skills for Participants:\nFrom discussion of definitions that are found within the ASD community and LGBTQ+ identities, this workshop also teaches educators and health care providers how to work with folks that identify with one or both communities. This workshop will review specific teaching skills to give educators and health professionals skills to help teach and allow their students/clients who need extra support. Lastly, this workshop has many anecdotes from local professionals and youth in Oklahoma, so it has personalized and state-specific information to share in our field.\n
