Sasha Hughes, a seasoned professional who holds more than a decade of combined experience in hospitality and health care, has joined the staff of Thrive as a Project Coordinator. In this role, Sasha will convene, support, and connect a partner network of content and context experts, which will greatly impact teen pregnancy prevention in Oklahoma County.
Sasha was drawn to the organization because of her desire to make a difference in the lives of young people. “As a young teen, I wasn’t able to talk about sex with my parents,” she recalls. “I became a young mother, and my whole life changed. I wish there would have been more resources and a way to connect with my family about sexual health, relationships, and self-love. Thrive and its partners are now providing these resources, and I wanted to be a part of this movement.”
Prior to joining the team at Thrive, Sasha served as the administrative specialist for two Oklahoma City organizations–Public Strategies and It’s My Community Initiative. It was during her time with these organizations that Sasha was able to grow her love for helping others as well as her skills in project coordination, professional communication, and leadership.
Laura Lang, CEO of Thrive, is thrilled to add Sasha to the team. “Sasha’s experience and perspective will add a great deal to our team. She’ll be coordinating efforts for an exciting new grant project, which will spark innovation in Oklahoma County and provide more resources for parents and caregivers. We couldn’t be more excited to have her join this new chapter for Thrive.”
